Bellingham Pax Christi pilgrimage to ICE Detention Center
From Nick Mele, Bellingham (WA) Pax Christi

On August 1, a group of Bellingham Pax Christi folks will begin a two week pilgrimage walk to the ICE Detention Center in Tacoma. We plan to average 9-10 miles a day and are requesting hospitality from Catholic churches along the way, although we welcome participation from all people of faith concerned about injustice to our nation's immigrant people. Mary Mele, who is the driving force behind the pilgrimage, has started a blog, and the route and other information is outlined and kept up-to-date on the blog: whatcom.blogs.com/pilgrimage

We will end the pilgrimage on August 15 with a prayer service at the ICE Detention Center. Currently, we are seeking allies and endorsements. (Note: Pax Christi USA endorses the pilgrimage.)
