Action for the Third Week of Advent |
Pax Christi USA is encouraging its members, friends and all people of conscience and good will to undertake one specific action for peace during each week of Advent. For each week, Pax Christi USA will suggest one coordinated action in which individuals and groups from around the nation may participate together. This week's action is a leafletting action on the Iraq war at your local mall during "peak" shopping season. This action is aimed at reaching a large cross-section of people with information on the cost of the war and occupation and extending an invitation to take action.

Choose a peak shopping time--maybe the weekend--to reach as many people as possible. Be polite and aware of any rules your mall may have regarding this type of action and how you want to handle the situation should you be asked to leave. Have other information available in case anyone asks what group you represent (Pax Christi USA brochures, prayer cards for peace, contact information, etc.) You may want to have a clipboard as well with a sign-up sheet for people who have interest in being on your local email or mailing lists.
