Dear Pax Christi USA Members,

For me, Pax Christi USA is like a star that continues to guide my faith journey, leading me on the discipleship path of ever-deepening commitment to the nonviolence that Jesus taught. Together, we make up a global community of peacemakers and justice seekers that share that path. Pax Christi USA continues to be a vital source of support to members on their journey. With your financial support we have done a great deal this year as you can see from our 2009 highlights. With your partnership, we will accomplish even more next year.

In the coming year Pax Christi USA will initiate an exciting new path for young peacemakers. In January, we will open a new intern house in Washington, DC, just a few blocks from our offices at the Center of Concern. This exciting project will bring together young peacemakers to live and work together for a year of service to Pax Christi USA. I am sure you would agree that forming the next generation of peacemakers is the most urgent and important work for peace that we can do today. With your partnership, we will build this program into a nationally respected and much-needed option for young peacemakers committed to growing the Pax Christi movement. These young people will bring energy and enthusiasm to our ongoing work to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, grow Pax Christi on college campuses around the nation and develop the leadership needed in the next generation to guide our movement forward. The challenges before us are great. So too are the opportunities! The effort to grow new leaders, form young people in nonviolence and nurture the next generation is crucial if we are to sustain the work to build the Peace of Christ. I for one am truly excited that our long sought goal of a national internship program is about to become a reality. I hope you share that excitement.
